What are cookies?
Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in the same way. In this policy I call all of them “cookies”.
Who is responsible?
Costa Cálida Legal, contactable at luis@costacalidalegal.com. Further details are in the Legal Notice and the Privacy Policy.
Your choice
When you first visit, a banner lets you Accept or Reject advertising cookies. Both options are equally available. Until you click “Accept”, no advertising cookies are set. The Google tag still loads on every page, but in a restricted mode (consent denied): it does not set advertising cookies and does not personalise adverts, although Google may receive limited technical information such as your IP address and the address of the page you visit. I remember your choice for 12 months and then ask again.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time:
Cookies used
Strictly necessary — needed for the website to work. They do not require consent.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
ccl_cookie_consent(local storage) | costacalidalegal.com | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected advertising cookies. | 12 months |
Advertising (Google Ads) — only set if you click “Accept”. I use them to measure whether my Google adverts lead to enquiries (conversion measurement). Google may also use the information for ad personalisation.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_gcl_au | Google Ads (set on costacalidalegal.com) | Measures conversions: links visits from my adverts to enquiries. | 90 days |
_gcl_aw | Google Ads (set on costacalidalegal.com) | Stores the click identifier when you arrive from one of my Google adverts. | 90 days |
IDE | Google (doubleclick.net) | Third-party cookie used to measure and personalise adverts across websites. | 13 months |
test_cookie | Google (doubleclick.net) | Checks whether your browser accepts cookies. | 15 minutes |
Google may change the names or durations of its cookies. See how Google uses cookies and how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can also manage Google ad personalisation in My Ad Center.
Third parties and international transfers
The advertising cookies are provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC. Google may transfer data to the United States; Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. This website also loads fonts from Google Fonts and a photograph from Unsplash, whose servers receive your IP address but do not set cookies.
Legal basis
Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from consent under Article 22(2) of Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI). Advertising cookies are used only with your consent (Article 22(2) LSSI and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge. Blocking strictly necessary storage may mean the banner appears on every visit.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy when I change the cookies I use. The date at the top shows the latest version.
